As ISEE expands, and grows participation in the PDP to include scientists and engineers from across the U.S. and beyond, we have been in need of a larger team of instructors to implement the program. In addition, some of our alumni are interested in pursuing career paths that involve professional development of current or future educators. With funding from the National Science Foundation (DUE#1226140, PI: L. Hunter), we have begun training a handful of experienced PDP participants each year to instruct elements of the PDP.  These “apprentice instructors” may take a role in facilitating their peers’ engagement in an inquiry activity and/or facilitating discussions during workshops held during the Inquiry Institute. Their participation on the PDP instructional team is key to ISEE’s growth, and their fresh approach to our curriculum is highly valued by other instructors, and by our community as a whole.

Individuals who have participated in the PDP at least three times and are interested in the role of Apprentice PDP Instructor should contact ISEE. The Apprentice PDP Instructor Program is not offered every year.
