Design Institutes 2019

PDP Participants attend one of the two Design Institutes offered in the spring, based upon the region of their teaching venue.

Design Institutes include a substantial amount of time (~8 hours) in which teams work together on their designs, in consultation with PDP staff instructors.  Design Institute sessions and design time focus on the focal content and STEM practices of each team's activity, and on designing equitable and inclusive activities and learning environments.

Design time is broken up by sessions to guide teams and stimulate new ideas, and there are team-led activities (PDP “design tools”) that help teams in targeted areas of the design process.  As with the Inquiry Institute, participants are expected to attend all sessions.
