Application Process for Design Team Leaders
Returning PDP Participants are highly encouraged to apply to be a Design Team Leader (DTL)
DTLs gain an in-depth experience in design, leadership, and managing a small project. More information on the DTL role can be found HERE.
Travel support and funding for fee waivers will be prioritized for DTLs.
If you have not completed a full PDP cycle in prior years, OR if you are a returning participant that does not want to lead a team, please complete the regular application.
DTL Application Process:
Step 1 - Review the DTL information sheet.
Step 2 - Submit the DTL Application.NOTE: If you are applying to return to the PDP as a DTL you do not need to complete the regular PDP application.
Step 3 - Review the Program Expense Summary page, to fully understand the costs associated with the full cycle of the program. Then complete a PDP cost planning worksheet. Send PDF to pdp@ucsc.edu.
The application period for PDP Design Team Leaders opens on October 10, 2019, and applications (including all steps above) are due on November 13, 2019.
You will be notified of Acceptance by November 20, 2019.

Finding a teaching venue (ISEE can help you!). For information on teaching venues in general, click HERE. For examples of past year's teaching venues, click HERE.

Thinking through some initial ideas for learning goals for your venue.
- Making sure that your advisor is supportive of your participation in the PDP - use this PDP information sheet to discuss the benefit of doing the PDP with your advisor.
Please note that ISEE expects to work closely with prospective DTLs in the application process to identify a venue, think through learning goals, and provide any other assistance needed.
